The last time I came across paper made from bananas was in an exhibition in Frankfurt about 15 years ago. It was a South American company , possibly, a Brazillian one. Anyway now we have the same paper from an Australian factory based in Queensland but with an envirnmental plus. It is ecologically sustainable.
Made from banana trunk this paper process does not require chemicals and it does not need extra land. Nutritionists advise us that bananas are good for our health. It contains lots of potassium, fibres etc. Maybe if we eat more bananas there will be more banana plantations and more trunks will be made into paper. If supply overtakes demand then paper price will drop!! Sounds great. Follow this link for more http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/04/06/2535565.htm?section=business
